Antique Trunk

Yesterday at work we were rearranging the whole store & putting out all of our Christmas Merchandise to get ready for our holiday open house next weekend. We were changing out one of the window displays which happened to be filled with horribly gaudy UT merchandise. (Of course) Anyway, I lifted up this tray covered in a sea of orange and white fluff and underneath is this GORGEOUS antique trunk being used as a display rack, so wrong. Come to find out it belongs to one of the other designers who got it for free from someone who was just going to throw it away. He offered to sell it to me for $50. Of course I bought it (even though I totally should not have dropped $50 right now). I got it home and looked inside and there are pages from The Commercial Appeal, Memphis, Friday Morning, January 27, 1956. I’ve been trying to research where the trunk came from but I can’t read the name on the lock, so no luck yet. I’m glad I was able to rescue it though. Now I just have to figure out a spot for it in the apartment.
